From adolescence, every eligible student learns a trade alongside academic work. Our vocational programmes are structured to engage students of every nature of disability — and to build genuinely marketable skills.
Our students take pride in their work, and you can see it: their products are sold to visitors and at local fairs and events. Every purchase returns money to the programme and tells a young person that what they made was worth buying.
A dedicated training home.
Our vocational training centre — Gharaunda — gives students real workshops, real tools and real production experience under trainers who have taught these crafts at Velugu for years.
One of our own rehabilitation workers, herself affected by polio, has trained a great number of our young people in dyeing and block printing. Students here learn from people who understand exactly what the journey feels like.
